Glider Challenge

DESIGN PHASE:
1. The challenge of this activity was to create a glider witht the materials provided.
2. There are no rules of brainstorming but it helps to do it as a colaborative effort. Our idea at first was to make a glider with very long wings. But that didnt work out so we decided to go with a smaller sized glider.
3. The criteria was to create a glider that could either go a long distance or have a good air time. We were provided with one thick piece of balsa wood and several thinner pieces of balsa wood. And also tissue paper.

4.

TEST PHASE:

Preformance: Our glider preformed better than expected. If we made better use of our class time then Im sure we could have created a much better glider. Also it would probably help for next time if we had some better glue. The very last time that we threw our glider it actually flew very well.

  1. Good job making the connection that the criteria are the two Achievements we discussed (distance and time aloft).

What designs worked well in class?

How would you modify your design if you competed again?

Please make sure you address all the questions from the Challenge!

  2. Also, I'm pretty sure I saw you working on a CAD model. Can you post that up?
